Welcome graphic

Illowa Community Folk Dance is a group of persons who get together for the enjoyment of traditonal social dance.  We are part of a living tradtion - the folk process continues as we get together, young and old, musicians and dancers.  On these pages we'll post the current calendar of community dances, any special events we're involved with, the history of Illowa Folk Dance, information about the bands who play for our dances, the performing and teaching spin-offs to the main group.
All are welcome to particpate in our events.  We teach as we go.  Hope to see you at a dance sometime soon.

Finally, I update for 2007-2008 season.  We began with Just for Fun in September; Barley House Band in October; The Guilded Bats in November; Lost in the Weeds in  December and Fire in the Belly inJanuary.  We dance from 7:30 p.m to 10:30 p.m mostly on the first Friday of each month from September to June.    Events page has the details of this season. About us page has history of the group and information about the bands that play for our dances. We have live music.  All dances are taught.

Next dance - Friday February 1, 2008 with "The Barley House Band" playing.
